Red Line stops and taxis to Terminal 2
Check the terminal on your booking. The Dubai Metro Red Line stops at Terminals 1 and 3 only, running from 5 am to midnight Monday to Thursday and Saturday, until 1 am on Friday night, and from 8 am on Sunday. Terminal 2 has no metro station, so taxis are the simplest way there. Metro tickets and Nol cards are sold at ticket offices and machines.
Ao Nang by road and Railay by longtail
Krabi International Airport sits east of Krabi Town. Ao Nang, the main resort, is roughly 40 minutes away by taxi or shared minivan. Railay can only be reached by longtail boat from Ao Nang beach. Krabi Town, nearer the airport, has the ferry pier for Koh Lanta and Koh Phi Phi.

TDAC filing before the overnight flight
All non-Thai nationals must file the TDAC at tdac.immigration.go.th within the three days before arrival. It replaced the paper TM6 card on 1 May 2025. Royal Thai Embassy guidance says immigration will not process an arrival without it, and the card can be submitted before a visa is issued. Losing three hours, and UAE holidays in the monsoon
Thailand is three hours ahead of the UAE all year, so an overnight flight costs you most of a night's sleep.
November to April is Krabi's dry season, with calm seas for island trips. The UAE summer holidays fall in Krabi's monsoon, from about May to October, when rain is frequent and some boat trips are reduced, but hotels cost less.
Three hours at KBV and checking UAE residence visas
For the return, allow about 40 minutes from Ao Nang to the airport plus three hours at KBV. Residents should check that their UAE residence visa is valid; visitors should confirm their entry option on the u.ae portal.
Back in Dubai by Red Line metro with a Nol card
If you fly into Terminal 1 or 3 on the way home, the Red Line metro is the cheapest ride into the city, with Nol cards on sale in the terminal. Its hours change on public holidays and during big city events, so check the RTA website before relying on a late train.
Phi Phi, Lanta and onward from Suvarnabhumi
