Getting to the airport from Makkah or Madinah
The Haramain High Speed Railway has a station built into the main terminal at King Abdulaziz International Airport, with direct trains from Makkah and Madinah. Its listed hours are 06:30 to 00:30 daily. Saudia flies from Terminal 1, which has 46 gates and is linked to the railway, so pilgrims can go from the train to check-in without leaving the building.
Anyone coming from central Jeddah by road should allow plenty of time in Umrah season, when check-in queues are long. Passengers on a work or residence visa need their exit or exit and re-entry visa in order before setting off.
TDAC and visa-free entry for Saudi citizens
File the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online. It is free on tdac.immigration.go.th, opens three days before arrival and applies to every non-Thai passenger.
Saudi citizens are on Thailand's 30-day visa-exemption list, which replaced the 60-day exemption on 15 September 2026. Expatriates living in Saudi Arabia travel on their own passports and should check their nationality's category on the Thai e-Visa portal or on our Thailand visa page.
SAT-1 shuttle train to immigration and baggage
Gulf flights often use SAT-1, a satellite concourse linked to the main terminal by an automated train through a tunnel of about one kilometre; the ride takes about three minutes. Immigration and baggage are in the main building.
Suvarnabhumi lies about 25 km east of central Bangkok. The Airport Rail Link runs to Phaya Thai in about 27 minutes and meets the BTS Skytrain; Makkasan links to the MRT Blue Line. Metered taxis and Grab wait outside arrivals. Travellers heading to the coast can take bus 389 to Pattaya from Exit 8 on the first floor, between 10:00 and 18:00, for 130 baht.
Dhaka connections in one terminal, or nonstop from Jeddah
