Mumbai to Bangkok flight guide
Various airlines fly nonstop from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) in Mumbai to Bangkok. Air India, IndiGo, Thai Airways International and Thai VietJet Air land at Suvarnabhumi (BKK), and Thai Lion Air at Don Mueang (DMK). The 3,031 km flight takes about 4 hours 15 minutes. Bangkok is one of the most popular short holidays from Mumbai, and the route also suits business trips and onward travel in Southeast Asia.
All international flights leave from Terminal 2 at Sahar, which has handled international departures since February 2014. The airport carried more than 55 million passengers in 2024–25, so arrive early, especially for late-night departures when several long-haul flights leave together. Metro Line 3 (the Aqua Line) has a station at Terminal 2, which avoids the traffic on the Western Express Highway.
Air India is based at Mumbai and includes a checked bag, as does Thai Airways International. IndiGo, Thai VietJet Air and Thai Lion Air price the seat alone, with bags and meals as extras. Thai Lion Air is the only one landing at Don Mueang, which is closer to the north of Bangkok and to Chatuchak market.
Suvarnabhumi lies about 25 km east of central Bangkok. It opened in 2006 and handled almost 63 million passengers in 2025. The Airport Rail Link runs to Phaya Thai in about 27 minutes and meets the BTS Skytrain there; Makkasan connects to the MRT Blue Line. Metered taxis and Grab wait outside arrivals. Some gates are in the SAT-1 satellite building, reached by an underground train in about three minutes.
Don Mueang, Bangkok's original airport, handles international flights at Terminal 1. The SRT Dark Red Line stops there, and bus A3 runs to Pratunam and Ratchaprasong, the shopping district, for 50 baht.
Thai entry rules depend on nationality; see our Thailand visa page. Every foreign visitor completes the Thailand Digital Arrival Card within 72 hours before landing.
The Dhaka flights on Biman, US-Bangla and Thai Airways leave from Suvarnabhumi (see Bangkok to Dhaka flights). From Don Mueang, allow time to cross the city and check in again. Mumbai also has its own flights: see Mumbai to Dhaka flights.
Clocks go forward 1 hour 30 minutes on landing in Thailand. Neither country uses daylight saving.

Both. A number of airlines use Suvarnabhumi (BKK); Thai Lion Air uses Don Mueang (DMK). The airports are on opposite sides of the city, so check the code on your ticket.
Suvarnabhumi lies about 25 km east of central Bangkok. The Airport Rail Link runs to Phaya Thai in about 27 minutes and meets the BTS Skytrain there; Makkasan station connects to the MRT Blue Line. Yes. Biman, US-Bangla and Thai Airways fly Bangkok to Dhaka from Suvarnabhumi. If you land at Don Mueang, allow at least four hours to transfer by road and check in again. On separate tickets you clear Thai immigration and collect your bag, so you need a Thai visa. See Bangkok to Dhaka flights.
Terminal 2 at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport handles international flights. Your booking shows the terminal; check it again on the day.

What's included
It depends on the airline. IndiGo, Thai VietJet Air and Thai Lion Air are low-cost carriers whose basic fares include only a cabin bag, so add checked baggage when you book. The full-service airlines normally include a checked bag; the allowance is shown on your booking.
Stay & facilities
On the full-service airlines, request a Muslim (halal) meal when you book or at least 24 hours before departure through the airline's manage-booking page. On IndiGo, Thai VietJet Air and Thai Lion Air, meals are bought online or on board; check the menu for halal options.
