Krabi to Dubai flight guide
Krabi to Dubai is a nonstop flydubai flight of about 6 hours 45 minutes and 4,993 km from Krabi International Airport (KBV) to Dubai International Airport (DXB). It is the only direct link between Krabi and the Gulf, for UAE residents flying home and for travellers connecting onward in Dubai.
flydubai is the only airline on the route and sells low-cost fares in which the basic ticket covers a cabin bag only. On a flight of almost seven hours, checked bags, meals and seat selection are worth pricing in. Add them online at booking, where they cost less than at the airport.
Krabi International Airport is east of Krabi Town. Ao Nang is roughly 40 minutes away by taxi or shared minivan. From Railay, take a longtail to Ao Nang beach first and leave a buffer for tide and weather. From Koh Lanta or Koh Phi Phi, check the ferry timetable the day before.
Arrive about three hours before departure for an international flight with bags, to allow for check-in, security and Thai emigration.
Dubai International has three passenger terminals. The Dubai Metro Red Line serves Terminals 1 and 3, running from 5 am to midnight Monday to Thursday and Saturday, to 1 am on Friday night, and from 8 am to midnight on Sunday. Terminal 2 has no metro station, so check your arrival terminal on the booking. Taxis run from every terminal around the clock.
UAE visa requirements depend on nationality. Some passports receive a visit visa on arrival; others must apply before travel. The UAE government portal u.ae lists the visa types, and our UAE visa page summarises them. flydubai checks documents at check-in in Krabi.
If you have a question about your entry status that the visa pages do not answer, the UAE portal links to U.Ask, the government's question service at ask.u.ae. Residents returning home should check that their residence visa is still valid before leaving Krabi.
Dubai is three hours behind Thailand (UTC+4 against UTC+7), with no daylight saving on either side.
Krabi's dry season, from about November to April, coincides with Dubai's mild winter, the most comfortable time at both ends. From May to September Dubai is very hot, and Krabi is in its monsoon season.
For a flight in the other direction, non-Thai nationals file the Thailand Digital Arrival Card at tdac.immigration.go.th within three days before landing. Royal Thai Embassy guidance says arrivals without it will not be processed, and the card can be filed before a visa is issued.
A long flight on a low-cost airline is more comfortable if you pre-order a meal and choose a seat. Carry water and snacks bought after security. If you are taking the metro on arrival, check the day: on Sundays it does not start until 8 am.
Metro passes and Nol cards are sold at ticket offices and vending machines in Terminals 1 and 3. Hours can change on public holidays and during citywide celebrations, so check the RTA website if you land on one of those days.
flydubai and Emirates fly from Dubai to a wide network across the Gulf, South Asia, Africa and Europe. Our Dhaka to Dubai flights page covers one South Asian link; the Dhaka to Bangkok flights page shows the usual route into Thailand from that region.
