In short

A number of airlines fly nonstop from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) to Bangkok: China Airlines, Starlux Airlines, Thai Airways International and Thai VietJet Air into Suvarnabhumi (BKK), and Thai AirAsia and Thai Lion Air into Don Mueang (DMK). The 2,489 km flight takes about 3 hours 35 minutes. Taiwanese holidaymakers, Thai workers going home and business travellers keep it busy all year.

Free meals and bags on a three-and-a-half-hour flight

China Airlines, Starlux and Thai Airways are full-service. Thai VietJet Air, Thai AirAsia and Thai Lion Air sell the seat with bags, meals and seat choice as extras. On a three-and-a-half-hour flight, the free meal and bag can tip the balance for a family.

Taoyuan MRT express and commuter trains to A12 and A13

The Taoyuan Airport MRT runs from Taipei Main Station to the airport. Express trains reach Terminal 1 (A12) in about 35 minutes and Terminal 2 (A13) in about 39 minutes; commuter trains take around 49 to 52 minutes. Trains leave Taipei Main Station roughly every seven minutes, alternating express and commuter. Confirm your terminal before boarding the train.

TDAC and visa-free entry for Taiwan passports

Complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online before landing. It is free on tdac.immigration.go.th, opens three days before arrival and applies to every foreign national.

Taiwan passport holders are on Thailand's 30-day visa-exemption list, which replaced the 60-day scheme on 15 September 2026. Other nationalities should check the Thai e-Visa portal or our Thailand visa page.

Rail Link, Grab and bus 389 to Pattaya

Suvarnabhumi lies about 25 km east of central Bangkok. The Airport Rail Link reaches Phaya Thai in about 27 minutes and connects to the BTS Skytrain; Makkasan has an MRT Blue Line link. Metered taxis and Grab wait outside arrivals. Bus 389 to Pattaya leaves Exit 8 on the first floor between 10:00 and 18:00 for 130 baht.

Buses and the SRT Red Line out of Don Mueang

Don Mueang lies north of the city. The A1 bus runs via BTS Chatuchak to Mo Chit 2 and the A2 via Chatuchak to Victory Monument, each for 30 baht from Gate 6 of the international terminal. The SRT Red Line runs to Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal, where it meets the MRT Blue Line, with scheduled trains from about 05:00 to 23:45.

Filing the TWAC before flying home to Taiwan

For the return trip, file the Taiwan Arrival Card online up to seven days before arrival; the National Immigration Agency extended the window from three days in July 2026. It is free on twac.immigration.go.tw.

Changing to the Dhaka flights in Bangkok

The Dhaka flights on Biman, US-Bangla and Thai Airways leave from Suvarnabhumi (see Bangkok to Dhaka flights). If you land at Don Mueang, allow time to cross the city and check in again.
