Singapore to Dhaka flight guide
Several airlines fly nonstop from Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka (DAC): Singapore Airlines, US-Bangla Airlines and Biman Bangladesh Airlines. The 2,897 km flight takes about 4 hours 10 minutes, and it carries Bangladeshi workers and students, business travellers and Singaporean visitors.
All of them allow 30 kg of checked baggage and 7 kg in the cabin, so the decision comes down to timing, fare and aircraft. Singapore Airlines runs about 14 flights a week on SQ446 and SQ448, US-Bangla about 11 on BS308 and BS310, and Biman daily on BG585.
Singapore Airlines schedules two types: the Boeing 787-10, a twin-aisle jet with 337 seats, and the smaller 737-8 with 154. Airlines swap equipment at short notice, so check the aircraft shown on your booking. Biman's 737-800 has 162 seats, 12 in business arranged two and two and 150 in economy arranged three and three, so business fills quickly around holidays. Biman and US-Bangla suit travellers collecting miles with a Bangladeshi airline or wanting a Dhaka ticket office for changes.
Changi sits about 24 km east of the Central Area. The MRT station lies underground between Terminals 2 and 3 on a short East West line branch that leaves the main line at Tanah Merah and calls at Expo. The free Skytrain links to Terminal 1; Terminal 4 has no rail link, but a free shuttle bus runs to it. Taxis and ride-hailing cars are quicker with two full suitcases.
Jewel, opened in 2019 as a garden, shopping and dining complex, is joined by walkways to Terminals 1, 2 and 3. It is landside, so visit before immigration and leave time to walk back.
Bangladeshi citizens need only their passport. Singapore citizens are on Bangladesh's visa-on-arrival list for tourism, business or investment: single entry, up to 30 days, extendable once by 30 days in Dhaka. Officers expect a passport valid for six months, a return or onward ticket and a hotel booking or host contact. Work or study trips need a visa in advance.
International arrivals are handled on the ground floor of the main building, labelled Terminal 1, while departures use the first floor, Terminal 2. Terminal 3 has been built and is due for a soft opening on 16 December 2026, with full operations expected in March or April 2027.
A prepaid taxi counter near the arrivals exit spares you from bargaining, and Uber, Pathao and Obhai also pick up there. Gulshan and Banani lie south of the airport towards the city, so the drive is shorter than to Old Dhaka, though traffic sets the time. Uttara, just north, works for a stopover or early departure; for meetings in Motijheel or sightseeing in Old Dhaka, Gulshan or Banani make a better base.
Three airlines operate direct flights from Singapore (SIN) to Dhaka (DAC). The flight takes about 4h 10m.

Getting there
Bags will not decide it, since all the carriers give the same 30 kg hold allowance and 7 kg cabin limit on this sector. Singapore Airlines tends to suit travellers who want its widebody 787-10 on some rotations; Biman and US-Bangla appeal to those collecting miles with a Bangladeshi airline or wanting a Dhaka-based ticket office for changes.
Two types appear on its schedule: the Boeing 787-10, with 337 seats, and the smaller 737-8, with 154. The 787-10 is a twin-aisle aircraft, so the cabin feels roomier on a four-hour sector. Airlines swap equipment at short notice, so look at the aircraft shown on your booking rather than assuming.
Biman's 737-800 carries 162 seats: 12 in business, arranged two and two, and 150 in economy, arranged three and three. That makes business a small cabin that fills quickly around holidays, while economy is a standard single-aisle layout.
After customs, a prepaid taxi counter stands near the arrivals exit, which spares you from bargaining. Ride-hailing apps such as Uber, Pathao and Obhai also pick up at the airport. Gulshan and Banani lie south of the airport, towards the city, so the drive is shorter than to Old Dhaka; traffic, not distance, sets the time.
General
Dhaka runs 2 hours behind Singapore throughout the year. Neither country moves its clocks for daylight saving (Singapore keeps UTC+8, Bangladesh UTC+6), so the gap never changes. A flight of a little over four hours therefore lands only about two hours later by the clock than it left.
The station lies underground between Terminals 2 and 3, on a short East West line branch that leaves the main line at Tanah Merah and calls at Expo. From there the free Skytrain reaches Terminal 1. Terminal 4 has no rail link; a free shuttle bus runs to it.
International arrivals are handled on the ground floor of the main building, labelled Terminal 1, while departures run from the first floor, Terminal 2. A new Terminal 3 has been built but is still being prepared for service, with a soft opening set for 16 December 2026 and full operations for March or April 2027, so check your ticket nearer the date.
For a stopover or an early departure, Uttara works well because it lies just north of the airport and avoids the drive through central traffic. For meetings in Motijheel or sightseeing in Old Dhaka it is a long way out, and Gulshan or Banani usually make a better base.
The airport sits about 24 km east of the Central Area. The MRT is the cheapest way out to the terminals; taxis and ride-hailing cars are quicker with heavy luggage, which matters on a route where many passengers carry the full 30 kg allowance.

Timing & weather
If you arrive early, yes. Jewel opened in 2019 as a garden, shopping and dining complex joined by walkways to Terminals 1, 2 and 3. It sits on the landside, so go before you clear immigration and allow enough time to walk back to your terminal.
