Singapore to Phuket flight guide
Singapore to Phuket is a 979 km nonstop flight of about 1 hour 45 minutes from Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) to Phuket International Airport (HKT), flown by Scoot, Singapore Airlines and Thai Lion Air. It is one of the easiest beach breaks from Singapore, short enough for a long weekend.
Singapore Airlines, the full-service choice, normally includes a checked bag and a meal. Scoot and Thai Lion Air are low-cost: the base fare includes a cabin bag, and checked bags, seats and food are extras. If you are packing light for a long weekend, a low-cost fare with cabin baggage only can be good value.
The MRT reaches Changi Airport station (CG2) via Tanah Merah on the East West Line, or via Expo on the Downtown Line. The first train runs at 5:31 am, 5:59 am on Sundays and public holidays, so very early departures usually need a taxi. Taxis from the city take about 30 minutes. Public buses 24, 27, 34, 36, 53, 110 and 858 also stop at the terminals. Check your terminal before you set off, as Changi has four.
You are leaving Singapore, so no SG Arrival Card is needed for this direction; it applies on the way back.
HKT sits at the northern end of the island, about an hour by road from Patong, Kata and Karon.
Airports of Thailand lists the Airport Bus Express to Patong Beach via Thalang and Kathu from 8 am to 8 pm, the hourly airport bus to Phuket Town from 8:15 am to 8:15 pm, the Phuket Smart Bus from beside the domestic terminal to Kamala, Patong, Karon, Kata and Rawai, and shared public vans to Patong, Kata and Karon. Car rental counters are on the first floor, and airport shuttles can be booked in advance.
All non-Thai nationals must file the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) at tdac.immigration.go.th within the three days before arrival. It replaced the paper TM6 card on 1 May 2025, and Royal Thai Embassy guidance says immigration will not process an arrival without it. It is an arrival record, not a visa; our Thailand visa page explains who needs one.
Thailand is one hour behind Singapore all year, so you gain an hour on the way there.
The Andaman coast is at its best from about November to April, with calm seas for island trips to Phi Phi and Phang Nga Bay. From May to October the south-west monsoon brings rain and swell; hotel rates fall.
A Friday evening flight and a Monday night return fit easily around the working week. File the TDAC on Wednesday or Thursday, inside the three-day window. If you land after 8 pm, the airport buses have finished, so book a car or use the taxi counter.
Singapore's school holidays in June and December and the Chinese New Year break push fares up, so book early for those weeks.
On the flight back, everyone clearing Singapore immigration, residents included unless they arrive by the Woodlands or Tuas land checkpoints, submits the SG Arrival Card within the three days before arrival. It is free on the ICA website and the MyICA app. Changi taxis run around the clock, with an airport surcharge of S, or S between 5 pm and midnight.
Ferries run from Phuket to Phi Phi and Krabi, and domestic flights reach Bangkok and Chiang Mai. Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi has many routes across Asia, including those on our Bangkok to Dhaka flights page. Changi's own routes include Singapore to Dhaka flights.

About 1 hour 45 minutes in the air. The two airports are 979 km apart in a straight line; actual times vary a little by airline, aircraft and wind.
Separate international and domestic terminals, side by side. International flights such as this one use the international side, so allow time for immigration on arrival.
Phuket International Airport is at the northern end of the island, so the west-coast beaches are a fair drive away: allow around an hour to Patong or Kata by taxi or minivan, more in traffic. The Phuket Smart Bus runs from the airport down the west coast beaches.
It depends on the airline: Changi has four terminals and airlines move between them. Your booking shows the terminal; the free Skytrain links Terminals 1, 2 and 3.
Only after 5:31 am, or 5:59 am on Sundays and public holidays. Earlier departures usually need a taxi.
Yes. The Airport Bus Express runs to Patong Beach via Thalang and Kathu from 8 am to 8 pm.
General
The clock moves one hour back on landing in Thailand (Thailand is UTC+7). Neither side uses daylight saving, so the gap stays the same all year.
What's included
It depends on the airline. Scoot and Thai Lion Air are low-cost carriers whose basic fares include only a cabin bag, so add checked baggage when you book. The full-service airlines normally include a checked bag; the allowance is shown on your booking.
Stay & facilities
On the full-service airlines, request a Muslim (halal) meal when you book or at least 24 hours before departure through the airline's manage-booking page. On Scoot and Thai Lion Air, meals are bought online or on board; check the menu for halal options.
Timing & weather
Within the three days before you land. For a Friday arrival, file from Wednesday onwards.
