Dhaka to Dubai flight guide
Flights from Dhaka to Dubai run nonstop from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (DAC) to Dubai International Airport (DXB) on several airlines: Emirates, flydubai, Biman Bangladesh Airlines and US-Bangla Airlines. Westbound against the wind, the 3,537 km flight takes about 5 hours 25 minutes. Most passengers are Bangladeshi workers returning to jobs in the UAE, with families and visitors alongside.
Emirates flies three times a day on the Boeing 777-300ER. EK585 leaves in the small hours, around 01:00 to 01:40, EK583 in mid-morning and EK587 in the evening, and all three land in Dubai the same day local time. flydubai's 737 MAX 8 leaves at about 08:10 (FZ502) and 22:00 (FZ524). US-Bangla's BS341 departs daily at 22:25 on a Boeing 737-800 and lands just before 02:00.
Biman flies its Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, and both Biman and US-Bangla include 30 kg of checked baggage and 7 kg in the cabin. Emirates lists 25 kg and flydubai 20 kg, with the actual figure set by the fare family.
Nobody gets a boarding pass at Shahjalal without the right UAE visa, either an employment visa or a visit visa issued before departure. Check that your passport has at least six months left.
Clocks go back two hours on arrival, because Dubai keeps UTC+4 and Dhaka UTC+6. An evening departure therefore lands before midnight in Dubai.
At Dubai International, Red Line metro stations sit right at Terminals 1 and 3. From Terminal 1 it is about ten minutes to Union, the interchange with the Green Line in Deira. Deira and Bur Dubai, facing each other across the Creek, are where many Bangladeshi visitors stay with relatives or find cheaper hotels.
Departures from Dhaka could move to a new building later this year. Hazrat Shahjalal's long-delayed third terminal is set for a soft opening on 16 December 2026, the civil aviation minister said in September, and full operations are not expected until March or April 2027. No airline moves had been announced. Read the terminal printed on your boarding pass if you fly after mid-December.

Visa & documents
Yes. Check-in staff in Dhaka look for a valid UAE employment or visit visa before they print a boarding pass, and there is no option to sort it out on arrival. Carry a printed copy as well as the PDF, and make sure the passport details match the visa exactly.
Six months or more from your travel date. A passport close to expiry can be turned away at the Dhaka check-in desk even with a valid visa, so renew it first if the date is tight.
General
Yes, by two hours. Dubai keeps UTC+4 and Dhaka UTC+6, and neither country uses daylight saving. With a flight of about 5 hours 25 minutes, local time in Dubai on arrival is only a little more than three hours later than when you left Bangladesh.
Emirates flights come into Terminal 3. flydubai parks at Terminal 2 for most of its routes and at Terminal 3 for a few, so read the arrival terminal on your booking. Anyone being met by relatives should pass that on, so they wait at the right arrivals hall.
Board the Red Line at the station attached to Terminal 1 or Terminal 3 and ride to Union, roughly ten minutes from Terminal 1. Union is where the Red and Green lines cross, and the Green Line carries you deeper into Deira and on towards the Creek.
Both sit on the Creek, close to the airport and well served by the metro, and both have plenty of modest hotels. Many Bangladeshi visitors pick whichever side their relatives live on. Deira is on the airport side of the water, and Bur Dubai lies on the far bank.
Getting there
Biman. Its Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner has two aisles and 271 seats, while the US-Bangla Boeing 737-800 is a single-aisle jet with about 162. Both airlines list the same 30 kg in the hold and 7 kg of hand luggage, so the choice often comes down to schedule and seat comfort.
On the figures listed here, yes. Emirates shows 25 kg and flydubai 20 kg, against 30 kg on Biman and US-Bangla. The Dubai airlines also attach the allowance to the fare type, so a basic ticket can come with less. Check the price of extra weight online before you head to the airport.
Westbound aircraft fly into the prevailing upper winds, so the scheduled time stretches to about 5 hours 25 minutes. The trip home to Dhaka is planned roughly three-quarters of an hour shorter. Allow for that gap when you arrange a pickup in Dubai.
Usually, yes. Competing carriers from each country share the route: Emirates and flydubai on the UAE side, Biman and US-Bangla on the Bangladeshi side. Comparing them side by side shows trade-offs in bag allowance, aircraft size and terminal at DXB, which matter more on this route than small fare gaps.
