Dhaka to Kuwait flight guide
Multiple airlines fly nonstop from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka (DAC) to Kuwait International Airport (KWI): Kuwait Airways, Jazeera Airways and Biman Bangladesh Airlines. The 4,241 km flight takes about 6 hours 10 minutes. Kuwait is a long-standing Gulf job market, and most people on board are starting a contract or going back after leave.
Biman and Kuwait Airways both fly the Boeing 777-300ER and include 30 kg of checked baggage. Biman's version has 419 seats, Kuwait Airways' about 360. Jazeera Airways, Kuwait's low-cost airline, flies the single-aisle Airbus A320neo of about 180 seats with 20 kg checked, and some fares exclude meals. On a six-hour flight, weigh the lower fare against the tighter cabin and smaller allowance. All of them allow 7 kg in the cabin.
The airport lies about 15.5 km south of the city centre, beside the Farwaniya hotels. Kuwaiti airspace closed on 28 February 2026 and flights stopped until 26 April. Terminal 1 reopened on 1 June but was damaged two days later and shut again, so foreign airlines, Biman included, have been handled at Kuwait Airways' Terminal 4. Jazeera keeps its own Terminal 5. A new Terminal 2 designed by Foster and Partners is under construction. Read the terminal on your booking and the airline's notices before you fly.
Airlines check that your Kuwaiti residence or visa is valid before boarding in Dhaka, and a passport with at least six months left is required. Workers whose residence expires while on leave need the employer or sponsor to renew it before the return date. Visitor visa rules depend on nationality, so check Kuwait's official e-visa service.
For a night after landing, the hotels in Al Thuraya City, Farwaniya, are a few minutes from the terminals. Sharq is the business district, with the JW Marriott and Courtyard by Marriott. Kuwait keeps UTC+3 all year, three hours behind Dhaka.

Getting there
Foreign airlines, Biman included, have been moved into Terminal 4, normally Kuwait Airways' own building. Kuwait Airways passengers use the same terminal. The arrangement is temporary, so read the terminal printed on your booking and check the airline's notices in the days before you fly.
Kuwaiti airspace closed on 28 February 2026 and flights were suspended. Kuwait Airways and Jazeera restarted on 26 April from Terminals 4 and 5. Terminal 1 reopened on 1 June but was damaged two days later and shut again, which is why foreign airlines moved to Terminal 4.
Eventually, perhaps. The new Terminal 2, designed by Foster and Partners, is still under construction with 28 gates planned, and the target is the last quarter of 2026. Opening dates for new terminals often slip, so do not assume your flight will use it until the airline confirms a move.
Biman's Boeing 777-300ER is configured with 419 seats, far denser than Kuwait Airways' version of the same aircraft at around 360. That means more people boarding and queueing at immigration in Kuwait, so a seat near the front helps if you want to be off quickly.
Two of the hotels under Where to stay are in Al Thuraya City, Farwaniya, the nearer about five minutes from the terminals. Both suit a night's rest after arrival or before an early flight home to Dhaka.
General
Jazeera has its own Terminal 5, opened in 2018 and standing next to the main airport building. If someone is collecting you, tell them the terminal number as well as the airline, since Jazeera and Biman passengers come out in different places.
Work it out in Kuwaiti time, which is three hours behind Dhaka all year. Take the Dhaka departure, add roughly six hours of flying, then subtract the three-hour difference. Give that local time to your employer or driver, and update them if the flight is delayed.
Sharq is the business district. The JW Marriott and Courtyard by Marriott are both there, and a budget hotel under Where to stay is on Jaber Al-Mubarak Street. For a higher-end stay, the Four Seasons at Burj Alshaya overlooks Al Shaheed Park.
No. Airlines check that your Kuwaiti residence or visa is valid before letting you board in Dhaka, and you also need a passport with at least six months remaining. Ask your employer or sponsor to renew it well before your return date.
Timing & weather
It is a single-aisle jet of about 180 seats, so space is tighter than on the two widebodies, and the fare includes 20 kg in the hold, not 30 kg. Pick an aisle seat, take water and something to eat if your fare has no meal, and check what is included before you board.
