A number of airlines fly nonstop from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka (DAC) to Hamad International Airport in Doha (DOH): Qatar Airways, Biman Bangladesh Airlines and US-Bangla Airlines. The 3,913 km flight takes about 5 hours 40 minutes. Some passengers are going to Qatar for work or family; many others change planes at Hamad for Europe, Africa or the Americas.
Qsuite on the 777 and the 787-8 alternatives
Qatar Airways flies the Boeing 777-300ER and the 787-8. Only the 777 has Qsuite, its business seat with doors; the 787-8 business cabin is a 1-2-1 layout without them. Biman uses the 787-8, and US-Bangla has flown the route since 2017. All of them include 30 kg of checked baggage and 7 kg in the cabin, so price and timing decide most bookings.
For a connection, Qatar Airways is the practical choice: it lists 198 destinations from Doha and sells them on one ticket with bags checked through. It is a oneworld member, so the flight can earn Avios in its Privilege Club or miles with a partner airline.
Entering Qatar or transferring
If Doha is your destination, your Qatari visa, residence or work permit has to be in order before you check in at Shahjalal; entry rules for visitors vary by nationality, so check the official Qatar visa service first. Transfer passengers stay airside and do not go through Qatari immigration.
Red Line metro and layover time at Hamad
Hamad lies on the eastern side of Doha. A Red Line station of the Doha Metro at Terminal 1 runs straight into the city, with stops at West Bay and Corniche, and Msheireb is the change for the Green and Gold lines. On a long layover, The Orchard, a 10,000 m2 indoor garden in the central concourse, and Urs Fischer's 7 m bronze Lamp Bear in the duty-free hall are both a short walk from the gates. Skytrax named Hamad the world's best airport in 2024, and it handled 54.3 million passengers in 2025.

Every seat has direct access to the aisle in a 1-2-1 layout, but it is not the Qsuite. For a flight of under six hours it is still a comfortable way to arrive ready for work.
Walk through The Orchard, a 10,000 m2 indoor tropical garden in the central concourse that opened in November 2023, with a water feature 268 m long. The duty-free hall and the Urs Fischer bear are a short stroll away.
The Red Line runs 40 km through 18 stations from Lusail to Al Wakra, with a branch to the airport. West Bay and Corniche both have their own stops, and Msheireb is where you change for the Green and Gold lines.
