Dhaka to Abu Dhabi flight guide
Flights from Dhaka to Abu Dhabi run nonstop from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (DAC) to Zayed International Airport (AUH) on several airlines: Etihad Airways, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, US-Bangla Airlines and Air Arabia Abu Dhabi. The 3,618 km flight takes about 5 hours 25 minutes. Most seats go to Bangladeshis returning to work in the emirate, with families visiting relatives and passengers changing to Etihad flights further west.
The stored timetable is an evening one. Air Arabia Abu Dhabi's Airbus A320 flies 3L064 daily at 21:15 and lands at 00:40 local time. Etihad's EY383 leaves at about 21:35 to 21:45 every day, on a Boeing 777-300ER on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays and a 787-9 on the other days, arriving around 01:00. Abu Dhabi is two hours behind Dhaka.
Your choice of airline mostly comes down to aircraft and bags. Etihad and Biman, which flies a Boeing 737-800, both include 30 kg checked. Air Arabia Abu Dhabi comes with 20 kg. Cabin bags are 7 kg on all of them.
Get to Shahjalal early, as check-in for Gulf flights draws long queues, and keep your visa copy and job papers in your hand luggage. The UAE visa has to be issued before you fly.
You arrive at Terminal A of Zayed International Airport, the large terminal that opened in late 2023. Taxis wait outside arrivals, and because the airport is on the mainland, expect a drive to reach the island city after a landing close to 01:00.
Check the departure terminal if you fly late in the year. Hazrat Shahjalal's third terminal is scheduled to soft-open on 16 December 2026, with full operations in March or April 2027, according to the civil aviation minister in September 2026.

Getting there
About 30.6 km. The airport sits east of the city on the mainland, so the ride onto the island takes a while even with light traffic. Allow extra time if someone is collecting you from a workplace across town.
Yes. Department of Transport routes A1 and A2 run to the city centre 24 hours a day, which helps if your flight from Dhaka lands in the small hours and you would rather not pay for a taxi.
The UAE is two hours behind Bangladesh. Neither country moves its clocks in summer, so the gap stays the same all year. The arrival time printed on your ticket is already in UAE time.
It does. Biman's Boeing 737-800 carries 12 business seats ahead of 150 in economy. With so few at the front, it pays to book business early if you want it.
Yes. Terminal A opened officially on 31 October 2023, and all airlines had moved across by 14 November. Anyone who last flew in before then will find the old terminals out of use and a single, far larger building of over 780,000 m2.
Biman sectors earn in Biman Loyalty Club, running since November 2013, and US-Bangla flights earn in its Sky Star programme. Join before you travel and add the number to the booking.
General
Bus E102 links the airport with Dubai, and Etihad runs its own coaches to Downtown Dubai and Al Ain. Check whether the Etihad coach is open to you before relying on it; the public bus is the simpler fallback.
It is a joint venture of Etihad, which holds 51%, and Air Arabia, which holds 49%. It started flying on 14 July 2020 and works on the low-cost model: a smaller bag allowance in the basic fare and extras paid for separately.
Booking
Yes. Abu Dhabi International was renamed Zayed International on 9 February 2024, and the code stayed AUH. Do not confuse it with Al Bateen Executive Airport, which is a separate airfield.
Visa & documents
Yes, on eligible flights. US border preclearance has run at the airport since 26 January 2014 and is the only such facility in the Middle East. Leave extra time for it at the connection.
