Dhaka to Guangzhou flight guide
A number of airlines fly nonstop from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka (DAC) to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN): China Southern Airlines, US-Bangla Airlines and Biman Bangladesh Airlines. Eastbound, the 2,331 km takes about 3 hours 40 minutes. Wholesale buyers and garment-sector staff fill much of the cabin, with students and tourists in the rest.
US-Bangla and Biman both fly the Boeing 737-800 with 30 kg of checked baggage, a big help for buyers carrying samples home. Biman's 737 has 12 business seats at the front. China Southern, the Guangzhou-based carrier and Asia's largest airline by fleet, puts a Boeing 787-9 with business and premium economy cabins on some flights and an Airbus A321neo on others, and allows 23 kg. China Southern also sells through tickets from Guangzhou to many other Chinese cities.
The Canton Fair runs twice a year, in spring and autumn, at the Pazhou complex in Haizhu District. The autumn 2026 session runs in three phases from 15 October to 4 November. Hotels near Pazhou and seats from Dhaka fill early in fair weeks, so book both as soon as the dates are announced.
Baiyun lies 28 km north of downtown Guangzhou. Terminal 1 closed for renovation on 7 May 2026, and its flights moved to Terminals 2 and 3, so check the building printed on your booking. From the airport, metro Line 3 runs south, and a change at Kecun to Line 8 brings you to the fair grounds. The transport centre at Terminal 2 also has rail, bus and taxi links.
Whether you need a Chinese visa depends on your passport. Bangladeshi citizens need a visa issued before travel; other travellers should check the rules for their passport with a Chinese embassy. A business visa normally needs an invitation letter from a company in China, so start early if you are visiting suppliers.

General
China Southern flies its international services from Terminal 2, its main hub, where the eastern A gates are kept for international flights. Biman and US-Bangla flights may use a different building, so check the terminal shown on your booking before you send directions to anyone meeting you.
Twice a year, in spring and autumn, a pattern it has followed since 1957. Each session fills hotels and flights from Dhaka, so book both as soon as the next dates are announced.
No. The fair now uses the Canton Fair Complex at Pazhou in Haizhu District. The older Liuhua Complex is in Yuexiu district, so make sure taxi drivers and hotels know you mean Pazhou.
Yes. The 787-9 carries 28 business seats, 28 in premium economy and 220 in economy. On days when the route gets the smaller A321neo instead, the cabin layout is different, so check the aircraft when you book.
Yes. Biman's Boeing 737-800 has a front cabin of 12 business seats, with 150 seats behind it in economy. On a short hop it is a modest upgrade, but a welcome one after a week of factory visits.
Getting there

Two hours. Guangzhou keeps Beijing time, UTC+8, against Dhaka's UTC+6, and China has not changed its clocks for summer since 1991. Supplier meetings on your first morning come round sooner than your body clock expects.
Not any more. It left SkyTeam at the start of 2019. Its own frequent flyer programme, Sky Pearl Club, is the place to collect miles if you fly with it regularly between Dhaka and China.
