Dhaka to Tokyo flight guide
Flights from Dhaka to Tokyo run nonstop from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (DAC) to Tokyo Narita International Airport (NRT) on Biman Bangladesh Airlines, the only airline on the route. The 4,947 km flight on a Boeing 787-9 takes about 6 hours 50 minutes. It mainly carries students, technical trainees and business travellers bound for Japan.
For a year there was no nonstop at all between Bangladesh and Japan. Biman suspended the service on 1 July 2025 and restarted it on 27 July 2026.
The flight runs twice a week. BG376 leaves Dhaka at 02:40 on Mondays and Thursdays and lands at Narita at 12:30 local time, so you cross three time zones overnight and arrive in the early afternoon. Tokyo is three hours ahead of Dhaka all year. If your dates do not fit those two days, the alternative is a one-stop trip through Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or a Gulf hub.
Checked baggage is 46 kg, which helps students and trainees moving to Japan for a year or more. Pack winter clothes in the cabin bag if you land between December and February.
Bangladeshi passport holders need a Japanese visa, issued through the embassy in Dhaka, before they fly. Students should keep their certificate of eligibility and school papers in the cabin bag for the immigration desk.
Narita is a long way out, about 60 km east of central Tokyo. Rail is the practical choice: the Keisei Skyliner and JR's Narita Express both leave from the airport's own stations, and both are quicker than a taxi through the expressway traffic.
On the Japanese side, both airport rail lines leave from stations under the terminals at Narita. The Keisei Skyliner runs to Nippori and Keisei Ueno, which suit hotels in the north and east of Tokyo, and the JR Narita Express serves Tokyo Station, Shinagawa, Shibuya and Shinjuku. Pick the train by the station nearest your school or hotel.

General
Yes. After a gap of roughly a year, Biman put the route back on sale and the first restored flight left on 27 July 2026. No other airline links the two countries without a stop, so dates that do not suit Biman mean changing planes somewhere along the way.
Yes. Biman's 787-9 is the only aircraft in its fleet with a premium economy cabin, 21 seats placed between the 30 business seats and 247 in economy. On an overnight sector it is a middle option for anyone who wants more legroom without paying for business.
It depends where you are staying. Keisei's Skyliner is the fastest train between the airport and the Yamanote Line, stopping at Nippori and ending at Keisei Ueno. JR's Narita Express serves Tokyo Station, Shibuya, Shinjuku and Yokohama, which suits addresses further west and south.
Anyone leaving to work abroad, including technical intern trainees, should register with the Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training, which handles biometric registration, smart cards and immigration clearance for overseas workers. Sort this out before the travel date, not at the airport. Students on a study visa follow the normal departure process.
Book a one-stop journey with a carrier that connects through its hub in Southeast Asia or the Gulf. The total travel time is longer, and baggage rules may be lower than Biman's, so compare the checked allowance carefully before you choose a cheaper connection.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines: 46 kg checked, 7 kg cabin. Promotional fares can include less, so check the fare rules before you pay.

Getting there
Airport Limousine runs direct buses between the two airports, and Keisei runs direct trains that take about 101 minutes. Either way the transfer is long, so book the domestic flight for later in the day, or better still on the next day if you are carrying the full 46 kg of luggage from Dhaka.
It can be the easiest option with heavy luggage, since you load the cases once. The catch is the road: the buses are often slower than the trains because of traffic jams on the way into Tokyo, so take the Skyliner or Narita Express if you have an appointment the same morning.
Yes. Biman's Boeing 787-9 has 30 business seats at the front, out of 298 in all. On an overnight sector the larger seat is worth pricing if you have meetings on the day you land, since economy offers little room to stretch out.

Usually not until the afternoon. Most hotels in Tokyo will hold your bags at the front desk, so you can drop the cases and walk around until the room is ready. If you need to sleep immediately, book the room from the night before so it is yours on arrival.
