Phuket to Siem Reap flight guide
Thai AirAsia flies nonstop from Phuket International Airport (HKT) in southern Thailand to Siem Reap–Angkor International Airport (SAI) in Cambodia, the gateway to the temples of Angkor. The 871 km flight takes about 1 hour 35 minutes and suits travellers combining Andaman beaches with Angkor Wat on one trip.
Thai AirAsia is the only airline on the route. It is a low-cost airline, so the basic fare covers a cabin bag only; add checked baggage when you book.
The route is seasonal. Thai AirAsia suspended it for the summer 2026 season and brought it back on 25 October 2026 with four flights a week. Flight FD612 leaves Phuket at 14:30 and lands in Siem Reap at 16:05 on an Airbus A320, flying on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Thai AirAsia had planned to go daily in early 2027, but in October 2026 it revised that plan: from 2 January to 27 March 2027 the route stays at four flights a week.
The airport is at the northern end of the island, so leave plenty of time from the west-coast beaches. AOT, the airport operator, lists an Airport Bus Express from Patong Beach to the airport between 06:00 and 18:30, and the hourly airport bus from Phuket Town between 09:15 and 21:15. The Phuket Smart Bus runs along the west coast via Kata, Karon and Kamala to the airport's domestic terminal, and public minivans and taxis cover the rest. With a 14:30 departure, the morning bus from Patong leaves enough margin.
Siem Reap–Angkor International Airport opened in 2023 about 40 km east of town, replacing the old airport near the temples, so the ride takes around an hour by taxi or airport shuttle bus. The afternoon arrival gives you the evening to settle in before an early start at Angkor Wat. Cambodia's entry rules depend on nationality; check the official Cambodian e-visa site, which lists eligible nationalities, or the Cambodian embassy before you book.
There is no time difference: Thailand and Cambodia both use UTC+7 all year. Many travellers reach Phuket through Bangkok first (see our Dhaka to Bangkok flights page for one example of a connection) and use this flight to avoid returning to Bangkok before Cambodia.
