Phuket to Bali flight guide
Indonesia AirAsia and TransNusa fly nonstop from Phuket International Airport (HKT) in southern Thailand to I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) in Bali. The 2,646 km flight takes about 3 hours 50 minutes and links two of South-East Asia's best-known beach islands, useful for island-hoppers and for Indonesian travellers heading home.
Both carriers are low-cost, so basic fares include a cabin bag only; add checked baggage at booking. Indonesia AirAsia was on the route first and flies it twice a day. TransNusa joined on 9 September 2026 with a daily flight, its fourth international destination from Bali; the return leg, 8B542, is scheduled to land in Bali at 21:35 local time. The first TransNusa flight carried 174 passengers.
The airport is at the north end of the island. AOT lists an Airport Bus Express from Patong Beach between 06:00 and 18:30 and an hourly bus from Phuket Town between 09:15 and 21:15. The Phuket Smart Bus serves the west coast through Kata, Karon and Kamala. Allow at least an hour by road from the main beaches, and arrive about three hours before departure.
Ngurah Rai airport, often listed as Denpasar, is on the narrow neck of the island next to Kuta. Seminyak and Jimbaran are a short drive, and Ubud about an hour or more.
Foreign tourists pay Bali's provincial levy of IDR 150,000. Pay it on the official Love Bali website before you travel: enter your passport details and arrival date, pay by card, bank transfer or QRIS, and the levy voucher arrives by email as a QR code. The site also notes that your passport must be valid for at least six months after departure. Indonesia's visa rules are set separately and depend on your nationality; check with the Indonesian embassy that covers your country.
Bali is one hour ahead of Thailand (UTC+8 against UTC+7). Travellers from elsewhere usually reach Phuket via Bangkok; see our Dhaka to Bangkok flights page for one example of a connection.
