Phuket to Muscat flight guide
Phuket to Muscat is a nonstop flight of about 6 hours 15 minutes and 4,594 km from Phuket International Airport (HKT) to Muscat International Airport (MCT), flown by Oman Air and SalamAir. It links Thailand's island beaches with the Omani capital, for Oman residents flying home and for visitors adding a Gulf stop to a Thai holiday.
Oman Air is the national full-service airline, so its economy fares normally include a checked bag, meals and drinks. SalamAir is Oman's low-cost carrier and sells the seat on its own, with checked bags, meals and seat selection charged separately. Over six hours, food and a bag add up, so compare the final prices.
The airport sits at the island's northern end, roughly an hour by road from Patong, Kata and Karon. Airports of Thailand lists the Airport Bus Express from Patong via Kathu, leaving Patong between 6 am and 6:30 pm, and an hourly bus from Phuket Town's old bus station from 9:15 am to 9:15 pm. The Phuket Smart Bus runs along the west-coast beaches. For a late-night departure, book a taxi or transfer ahead.
International check-in is in the international terminal, next to the domestic one. Car rental returns are on the first floor, and the Airports of Thailand call centre (1722) answers transport questions.
Muscat International Airport is at Seeb, about 30 km west of Muttrah and the old town. Taxis and ride-hailing cars run from arrivals.
Oman Air uses Muscat as its hub, with connections across the Gulf, to South Asia and to Europe on the same ticket.
The terminal has free Wi-Fi, currency exchange, banking and telecom counters for a local SIM, and a tourist information desk in the public area. E-gates are available at passport control for eligible travellers, and the airport lists a taxi service and a shuttle bus under its to-and-from-airport options. The support line is +968 2435 1234.
The Royal Oman Police runs the official eVisa portal at evisa.rop.gov.om, which handles tourist, work and residence visas and includes a guide to visa types. Entry rules depend on nationality. Check the rule for your passport on the portal, or with its call centre, before you book.
Oman is three hours behind Thailand (UTC+4 against UTC+7), and neither country uses daylight saving. An evening departure from Phuket lands in Muscat the same night, local time.
Phuket's dry season runs from about November to April, which overlaps with Muscat's mild winter. From May, Muscat grows extremely hot, and Phuket enters its monsoon season.
SalamAir passengers should add a checked bag at booking, as buying it at the airport costs more. Whichever airline you choose, allow at least an hour from the southern beaches to HKT and two hours or more at the airport for check-in and Thai emigration.
The nonstop runs with so few airlines, so seats go early around Eid and the Christmas break.
On a return trip from Muscat, every non-Thai national files the Thailand Digital Arrival Card online at tdac.immigration.go.th, within the three days before landing. Royal Thai Embassy guidance says immigration will not process an arrival without it. Flights from the Gulf often land early, before Phuket's airport buses start at 8 am, so book a transfer.
From Muscat, both airlines fly on to cities across the Gulf and South Asia. Our Dhaka to Muscat flights page covers one of them; for the route into Thailand from that region, see Dhaka to Bangkok flights.

General
The clock moves three hours back from Thai time (Thailand is UTC+7). Neither side uses daylight saving, so the gap stays the same all year.
Oman Air, the national airline, and SalamAir, the low-cost carrier, both fly to Bangkok and Phuket.
What's included
It depends on the airline. SalamAir is a low-cost carrier whose basic fares include only a cabin bag, so add checked baggage when you book. The full-service airlines normally include a checked bag; the allowance is shown on your booking.
Stay & facilities
On the full-service airlines, request a Muslim (halal) meal when you book or at least 24 hours before departure through the airline's manage-booking page. On SalamAir, meals are bought online or on board; check the menu for halal options.
