Bangkok to Riyadh flight guide
Both airlines fly nonstop from Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) in Bangkok to King Khalid International Airport (RUH) in Riyadh: Saudia and Riyadh Air. The 5,771 km flight takes about 7 hours 45 minutes. It serves residents of the Saudi capital returning from Thailand, business travellers and visitors to Riyadh.
Both are full-service airlines, so economy fares include a checked bag and meals. Saudia is the long-established national carrier, and Riyadh Air is the newer airline based in the capital. Compare schedules and the baggage figure on each booking, since allowances vary by fare.
Both airlines depart from Suvarnabhumi, about 25 km east of central Bangkok and 27 minutes from Phaya Thai on the Airport Rail Link. Gate numbers beginning with S are in SAT-1, the satellite concourse, reached by an automated train through a tunnel of about one kilometre. The ride takes about three minutes with waiting, but leave margin for the walk.
King Khalid International Airport reorganised its terminals in 2026. Terminals 1 and 2 now handle international flights for the Saudi national carriers, Terminals 3 and 4 their domestic flights, and Terminal 5 international flights by foreign airlines. Check the terminal on your booking and give it to whoever is collecting you.
The airport is about 35 km north of central Riyadh. The Riyadh Metro Yellow Line has stations at Terminal 1, at Terminals 3 and 4, and at Terminal 5, with lifts, escalators and multilingual signs. Children under six ride free with a paying adult. Taxis and ride-hailing cars wait outside arrivals for anyone with heavy bags.
Your visa depends on nationality and purpose. Residents need a valid iqama, and visitors should check the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs visa platform or our Saudi Arabia visa page before booking.
Travellers from South Asia arrive at Suvarnabhumi on Biman, US-Bangla or Thai Airways (see our Dhaka to Bangkok flights page) and can connect in the same terminal. On separate tickets you clear Thai immigration and check in again, which needs permission to enter Thailand and a completed Thailand Digital Arrival Card. Dhaka also has its own flights to Riyadh: see Dhaka to Riyadh flights.
