Flying from Bangkok to Seoul

In short

Multiple airlines fly nonstop from Bangkok to Incheon International Airport (ICN), Seoul's main international gateway. Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, Thai Airways International and Air Premia lead the full-service side, with Jeju Air, Jin Air, Thai VietJet Air, Trinity Airways and Thai AirAsia on low-cost fares. The 3,666 km flight takes about 5 hours 5 minutes, and it is one of the busiest routes between Southeast and North Asia for tourists, workers and students.

Low-cost and full-service carriers to Seoul

Several carriers depart from Suvarnabhumi (BKK) and Thai AirAsia from Don Mueang (DMK). The low-cost airlines (Air Premia, Jeju Air, Jin Air, Thai VietJet Air, Trinity Airways and Thai AirAsia) charge for checked bags, meals and seat choice. Korean Air, Asiana and Thai Airways include them. Thai AirAsia's service was listed to end on 25 October 2026, and Eastar Jet was due to return to the route from the same date, so check the current schedule in the search above.

Many flights leave Bangkok late at night and land in Seoul early in the morning, which suits travellers who want a full first day but makes for a short night on board.

Rail Link to Suvarnabhumi, SAT-1 and the A1 bus to Don Mueang

Suvarnabhumi is 27 minutes from Phaya Thai on the Airport Rail Link. Late-night departures may board at SAT-1, the satellite concourse linked to the main terminal by an automated train through a tunnel of about one kilometre.

For Don Mueang, the A1 bus from Mo Chit 2 and BTS Chatuchak and the A2 from Victory Monument cost 30 baht, and the SRT Red Line runs from Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal.

Which Incheon terminal?

Incheon International Airport sits on an island west of Seoul. Korean Air and its SkyTeam partners use Terminal 2, and most other airlines use Terminal 1. Check the terminal on your booking, as the two buildings are several kilometres apart.

AREX Express or All-Stop train to Seoul Station

The AREX Airport Railroad runs from both terminals to Seoul Station. The Express train takes about 43 minutes from Terminal 1 and about 51 minutes from Terminal 2. The cheaper All-Stop train takes about 59 minutes from Terminal 1 and 66 from Terminal 2. Express trains run from early morning until about 22:48 from Terminal 1, so very late arrivals may need the all-stop service or a late-night bus.

K-ETA and the exemption list running to end-2026

Travellers from visa-waiver countries normally need a Korea Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA) before flying. Korea has exempted 22 countries and territories, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan and Singapore, until 31 December 2026; travellers from those places can still apply if they want to skip the paper arrival card. Others should check the K-ETA site or the nearest Korean embassy for their own rules.

Arriving from Dhaka to catch a Seoul flight

Biman, US-Bangla and Thai Airways land at Suvarnabhumi from Dhaka (see our Dhaka to Bangkok flights page), the airport used by eight of the Seoul carriers. A Thai AirAsia flight from Don Mueang means crossing the city and checking in again, so leave at least four hours.
