Bangkok to Phnom Penh flight guide
Various airlines fly nonstop from Bangkok to Techo International Airport (KTI), which has served Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, since 9 September 2025. Seven leave from Suvarnabhumi (BKK) and Thai AirAsia from Don Mueang (DMK). The 520 km flight takes about 1 hour 10 minutes. It suits business travellers, visitors starting a Cambodia trip and anyone combining Phnom Penh with Siem Reap and Angkor.
From Suvarnabhumi the choice covers Air Cambodia, Bangkok Airways, Cambodia Airways, Sky Angkor Airlines, Thai Airways International, Thai VietJet Air and Turkish Airlines. Air Cambodia, Cambodia Airways and Sky Angkor all use Techo as their hub. From Don Mueang, Bangkok's older low-cost airport, Thai AirAsia flies the route.
Fares are not like for like. Thai VietJet Air and Thai AirAsia price the seat alone, with bags and meals as extras, while the full-service airlines build those into the ticket, so compare the total cost. On a flight this short the difference is mostly about the bag.
Suvarnabhumi lies about 25 km east of the centre and is reached on the Airport Rail Link from Phaya Thai in about 27 minutes. Don Mueang, north of the city, opened in 1914 and is the base of Thai AirAsia, Nok Air and Thai Lion Air; the SRT Dark Red Line stops there, and city buses A1 to A4 run from the terminal for 30 to 50 baht. The two airports are on opposite sides of Bangkok, so check the code on your ticket before setting off.
Techo replaced the old Phnom Penh International Airport at Pochentong, which no longer takes international flights. The new airport is in Kandal province about 19 km south of the city, with a single 4,000 m runway and a first-phase capacity of 13 million passengers a year. Make sure any older booking or guidebook is not pointing you to Pochentong.
An airport express bus run by the Phnom Penh City Bus Authority operates daily from 5:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. A new highway links the airport to southern Hun Sen Boulevard. Taxis and private transfers also run, so allow around an hour to the riverside in traffic.
Entry rules vary by nationality. Check the official Cambodian e-visa site or the Cambodian embassy before booking, and carry a passport with plenty of validity left.
Biman, US-Bangla and Thai Airways land at Suvarnabhumi from Dhaka (see Dhaka to Bangkok flights). Seven of the Phnom Penh airlines leave from that same airport. Taking the Don Mueang flight means crossing Bangkok and checking in again, so leave at least four hours. There is no time difference: Thailand and Cambodia both keep UTC+7 all year.

Practical points for booking this route.
Suvarnabhumi (BKK) and Don Mueang (DMK) are far apart. Low-cost flights on this route use Don Mueang, so match the airport to your hotel or connecting flight before you pay.
Thai VietJet Air and Thai AirAsia charge for checked baggage. It is cheaper added online at booking than at the airport.
Put your dates into the search above and compare the price with baggage, seats and meals included, not just the base fare.
Entry rules for Bangladeshi passports change from time to time, so confirm them with the Cambodian embassy or the official visa site before you book.

General
There is no time difference: both run on UTC+7 all year.
Yes. Fly Dhaka to Bangkok on Biman, US-Bangla or Thai Airways, all of which land at Suvarnabhumi, then take one of the Phnom Penh flights. Booking both legs on one Thai Airways ticket, where available, keeps you airside with your bag checked through. Two separate tickets mean clearing Thai immigration, which needs a Thai visa.
That depends on your passport. Check the official Cambodian e-visa site, which lists the nationalities it accepts, or ask the Cambodian embassy before booking.
What's included
It depends on the airline. Thai VietJet Air and Thai AirAsia are low-cost carriers whose basic fares include only a cabin bag, so add checked baggage when you book. The full-service airlines normally include a checked bag; the allowance is shown on your booking.
Stay & facilities
On the full-service airlines, request a Muslim (halal) meal when you book or at least 24 hours before departure through the airline's manage-booking page. On Thai VietJet Air and Thai AirAsia, meals are bought online or on board; check the menu for halal options.
