Bangkok to Delhi flight guide
A number of airlines fly nonstop from Bangkok to Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) in Delhi. Air India, IndiGo, SpiceJet and Thai Airways International leave from Suvarnabhumi (BKK); Thai AirAsia X and Thai Lion Air from Don Mueang (DMK). The 2,948 km flight takes about 4 hours 10 minutes. Delhi is India's capital and the start of trips to Agra, Jaipur and the Himalayan foothills, so the route carries business travellers, students and tourists alike.
Air India, whose main hub is Delhi, and Thai Airways International include a checked bag and a meal. IndiGo, SpiceJet, Thai AirAsia X and Thai Lion Air charge for bags, meals and seats. Thai AirAsia X flies wide-body aircraft from Don Mueang, which some travellers prefer on a four-hour flight.
Various airlines use Suvarnabhumi, about 25 km east of the centre on the Airport Rail Link. Don Mueang, north of the city, is on the SRT Dark Red Line and city bus routes A1 to A4. Check the code on your ticket before you leave.
Indira Gandhi International is about 16 km from the city centre and 15 km south-west of New Delhi railway station. It handled more than 79 million passengers in 2024–25, the most in its history. Most international flights use Terminal 3, which opened in July 2010. Terminal 1 reopened in 2025 after a rebuild as a single integrated building.
The Delhi Metro Airport Express line runs from Terminal 3 to New Delhi station in about 20 minutes, and prepaid taxis and app cabs wait outside arrivals. If you are travelling on to Agra by train, the metro to New Delhi station is the quickest link.
Most foreign nationals need an e-Visa or a regular Indian visa issued before departure, depending on nationality and purpose, and a passport with at least six months' validity. Check the Government of India's official visa portal.
Biman, US-Bangla and Thai Airways land at Suvarnabhumi from Dhaka (see Dhaka to Bangkok flights), the airport for four of the Delhi airlines. Dhaka also has its own flights: see Dhaka to New Delhi flights.
India is 1 hour 30 minutes behind Thailand, and neither country changes its clocks.

General
The clock moves one hour and 30 minutes back from Thai time (Thailand is UTC+7). Neither side uses daylight saving, so the gap stays the same all year.
Yes. Fly Dhaka to Bangkok on Biman, US-Bangla or Thai Airways, all of which land at Suvarnabhumi, then take one of the Delhi flights. Booking both legs on one Thai Airways ticket, where available, keeps you airside with your bag checked through. Two separate tickets mean clearing Thai immigration, which needs a Thai visa.
What's included
It depends on the airline. IndiGo, SpiceJet, Thai AirAsia X and Thai Lion Air are low-cost carriers whose basic fares include only a cabin bag, so add checked baggage when you book. The full-service airlines normally include a checked bag; the allowance is shown on your booking.
Visa & documents
Most foreign nationals do. Depending on nationality and purpose, that means an e-Visa or a regular visa issued before departure, and a passport valid for at least six months. Check the categories open to your passport on the Government of India's official visa portal.
Stay & facilities
On the full-service airlines, request a Muslim (halal) meal when you book or at least 24 hours before departure through the airline's manage-booking page. On IndiGo, SpiceJet, Thai AirAsia X and Thai Lion Air, meals are bought online or on board; check the menu for halal options.
