Bangkok to Jakarta flight guide
A number of airlines fly nonstop from Bangkok to Soekarno–Hatta International Airport (CGK), the main airport for Jakarta, Indonesia's capital. Garuda Indonesia, Thai Airways International and TransNusa leave from Suvarnabhumi (BKK); Batik Air, Citilink and Thai Lion Air from Don Mueang (DMK). The 2,298 km flight takes about 3 hours 20 minutes. The route serves trade, business and family travel between Southeast Asia's two biggest economies.
Garuda Indonesia, the national airline, and Thai Airways International include a checked bag and a meal. TransNusa, Batik Air, Citilink and Thai Lion Air price the seat alone, with bags and meals as extras. Batik Air, Citilink and TransNusa are all based at Soekarno–Hatta, which helps if you are connecting on to other Indonesian islands.
Half the flights leave from each Bangkok airport. Suvarnabhumi is about 25 km east of the centre on the Airport Rail Link; Don Mueang is in the north on the SRT Dark Red Line, with bus A3 from Pratunam and Lumpini for 50 baht. Check your ticket for the airport code.
Soekarno–Hatta is in Tangerang, Banten province, about 20 km north-west of Central Jakarta. It handled about 55 million passengers in 2025, which made it the fourth busiest airport in Southeast Asia. Terminal 3 is the newest and largest terminal and handles international flights.
The airport train runs to BNI City and Manggarai stations in central Jakarta, and taxis and ride-hailing cars wait at each terminal. Road traffic into the city can be very slow at peak times, so the train is the more predictable choice with light luggage.
Indonesia's visa rules depend on nationality. Check the official Indonesian immigration website or an Indonesian embassy before booking, and carry a passport with at least six months' validity.
Biman, US-Bangla and Thai Airways land at Suvarnabhumi from Dhaka (see Dhaka to Bangkok flights), the airport used by Garuda, Thai Airways and TransNusa. A Don Mueang flight means crossing Bangkok and checking in again, so leave at least four hours.
There is no time difference: Jakarta and Bangkok both keep UTC+7 all year.

TransNusa, Batik Air, Citilink and Thai Lion Air charge for checked baggage. It is cheaper added online at booking than at the airport.

General
There is no time difference: both run on UTC+7 all year.
Yes. Fly Dhaka to Bangkok on Biman, US-Bangla or Thai Airways, all of which land at Suvarnabhumi, then take one of the Jakarta flights. Booking both legs on one Thai Airways ticket, where available, keeps you airside with your bag checked through. Two separate tickets mean clearing Thai immigration, which needs a Thai visa.
That depends on your nationality. Check Indonesia's current visa requirements on the official Indonesian immigration website or with an Indonesian embassy before booking.
What's included
It depends on the airline. TransNusa, Batik Air, Citilink and Thai Lion Air are low-cost carriers whose basic fares include only a cabin bag, so add checked baggage when you book. The full-service airlines normally include a checked bag; the allowance is shown on your booking.
Stay & facilities
On the full-service airlines, request a Muslim (halal) meal when you book or at least 24 hours before departure through the airline's manage-booking page. On TransNusa, Batik Air, Citilink and Thai Lion Air, meals are bought online or on board; check the menu for halal options.
